Achim Volkers & Sean Connolly 2011-12
Dive into the ocean and guide the mollusk through 24 levels of excitement in this C64 exclusive underwater eat 'em up!
Mollusk Redux is set across four oceans (Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Antarctic) each made up of six levels. The goal on each level is to eat a set quota of fish whilst avoiding enemy eels, piranhas, sharks and falling anchors. Your mollusk isn't defenceless though - you have a reserve of ink at your disposal!
Originally entered in RGCD's 16KB Cartridge Game Development Competition (2011), this special redux version features a number of enhancements over the competition release, including redesigned levels and stages, a limited amount of fish to eat on each level, bonuses, improved controls, hiscore table and optional disk score saver/loader, game map wrapping, PAL/NTSC compatibility and other minor bugfixes.
Mollusk Redux is both NTSC and PAL compatible, and its joystick-only control means that it's even playable on the Commodore 64 GS console. Visit RGCD for more information on the game, screenshots, videos and exclusive downloads.
The standard cartridge version is packaged in a cardboard carton, whereas the deluxe version uses a modified plastic Universal Game Case.
The cover art features an illustration by Flemming Dupont and the game comes complete with a printed manual and vinyl sticker. The 16KB PCB is housed in a blue cartridge shell. The full game is also available for free download from the game's page at RGCD.
